How God Used Heartbreak to Teach Me About Emotional Health
This episode is for all but especially for my deep feelers who are known in their families and friend groups as the “emotional” or “sensitive” one, for those who know a deep feeler but have no idea how to understand or handle their emotions, for anyone who has ever felt ashamed about an emotional outburst and maybe even still replaying the situation, and for all who are interested in how I, an emotional feeler type to the max, learned to take every emotion to God and walk in freedom.
If you follow The Yay Project on Instagram, you might have seen me mention that I’m taking Rick Warren’s Transformed course online with my church this summer. The sermons are short and sweet, but wow are they packed with God’s truth. So far we’ve covered spiritual health, physical health and mental health, and today’s topic was on emotional health. Now if you’ve known me or read my words for awhile, it probably comes as no surprise when I say that I have A LOT of emotions. I feel like all my channels are basically one big love letter / prayer to God - after I spend time with him, I’ve often learned so much, released so much, felt SO much, and want to share my joy with whoever wants to read or listen. But can you believe that The Yay Project is only a year old? Or more specifically, can you believe that it’s only been a year since I learned how to be emotionally rooted in God?
Before we broke off into our discussion groups today, our leader for Transformed asked if I would share my testimony on emotional health with the wider group. I’d love to share it here with you guys too.
This is for everyone but especially:
