Waiting With a Heart Full of Hope

You know those mornings when you wake up and just feel a bit sad. You’re trying hard to hold onto God’s promises… well mostly that one, or that top three, you really want and have been praying and waiting for. I did this morning, but then put my pen to paper and just let things flow.

The first line that came out was:

“Dear, God. I love you! I repent this morning of …”

Then I surrendered my hopes, declared my trust, gave thanks, humbled myself before him, and asked for more patience and self control.

“Help me to want what you want. Help me to wait for your best. Help me to serve others and steward well what you have entrusted to me. Help me to glorify your name above all.”

We often know what we need to do right?

When our emotions are trying to lead us astray, let’s never be afraid to go before God and pour out the ugly. He will show us his beautiful way.

Then I put on an upbeat worship song (My Redeemer Lives - Hillsong) and had a fun time dancing around my apartment while praying in tongues. As I danced and prayed, it occurred to me to pray for joy - that we spend today and each day filled with joy because we know we’re with God! We’re in his plan! He’s guiding us day by day!

Show me the right path, O Lord;

point out the road for me to follow.

Lead me by your truth and teach me,

for you are the God who saves me.

All day long I put my hope in you.

Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,

which you have shown from long ages past.

Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.

Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,

for you are merciful, O Lord.

(Psalm 25:4-7)

Seriously, how could we not say a huge “Thank you, Jesus!”

Our Redeemer lives. May we recognize that afresh today and praise the name of the Lord our God.
