The Anna Calling
Do you feel the pressure to achieve worldly markers of success but sense God is calling you to a different lifestyle? Have you ever thought that fasting and praying and worshipping God full time would be the best thing ever? In this episode, I share about how I learned about intercessory missionaries — sometimes called people with the 'Anna' calling — and my thoughts, desires, obedience this season. Have a listen and see if this might be something God is calling you to do! We're in a special season and there's no time to waste. Not that there's ever any time to waste. But I pray we are seeking God and walking in faith and willing to do whatever he says whenever he says. I'm definitely still learning too (see the last episode) but know 100% that the quicker we obey God, the better off we are. Let's go all in with our King :)

In this new season of the podcast, I’d like to invite you into my preparation process - rather than trying to create a perfect (though I know it’s far from perfect!), polished final product.
So as I prepared for this episode, I was praying in tongues and worshipping, expecting that I’d share about a different topic (supporting one another in our God-given dreams - maybe another day). But as I prayed, I felt God touch my heart and remind me of the story of Anna.
Luke 2:36-38 says:
“There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.”
I LOVE Anna’s story, so much so that I have Anna on my list of dream baby names. She only has a few sentences in the Bible but what a woman! She spent all her days and nights in the temple worshipping God! She was one of the first to recognize baby Jesus!
And I felt God wanted to remind me, and maybe you, of how deeply he loved Anna. Maybe by worldly standards, she wasn’t considered to be very successful. She wasn’t a money-making, child-raising business mogul and the wife of a successful man like the Proverbs 31 woman. But she didn’t need to be. She was called to a different life and she did her calling well. Very well.
